BREAKING BARRIERS THE KEY TO SUCCESS

March 18, 2017 – 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

FREE SATURDAY PROGRAM FOR 6th & 7th GRADE STUDENTS PACKED WITH CHALLENGING AND CREATIVE PROJECTS TO INFORM AND INSPIRE STUDENTS OF OPPORTUNITIES IN NON TRADITIONAL CAREERS.

The program will run starting with sign-in & bagel breakfast at 8:30 a.m.  Classes will last 45 minutes each.  Snacks will be provided for students. 

Seats are limited.  We will be accepting 40 male and 40 female students. Students will be able to participate in special projects designed as a preview of the technical area.

You will receive an email with confirmation of class assignments a week before the event.

Male students will rotate through

  • Allied Health/Sports Medicine

  • Business

  • Cosmetology

  • Commercial Arts

Female students will rotate through

  • Carpentry

  • Engineering

  • Transportation

  • Welding

*Nontraditional careers for women are those where at least 75% of the workers are male. Nontraditional occupations for men are where at least 75% of the workers female.
