• Program at a Glance
    The Allied Health program at Sussex County Technical School introduces students to the rapidly growing and in-demand healthcare industry. This multifaceted program has been designed to help dedicated students discover the best possible healthcare career options based on their individual career interests. Students will gain background knowledge in a variety of subjects such as healthcare systems and settings, medical terminology, pharmacology, and nutrition. Additionally, anatomy and physiology will be taught including the structure and function of the body and organ systems, pathophysiology, disease processes, and microbiology. Through interactive learning and direct skills application, students will gain competency in clinical patient care, including general patient care, infection control procedures, testing and laboratory protocols. Administrative functions will also be reviewed, including care coordination, patient education, communication, customer service, medical law, and ethics.
