Program at a Glance
Cosmetology students are fully prepared to successfully master the State of New Jersey Cosmetology/Hairstyling exam for licensing. The Cosmetology program is approved by the NJ Department of Education and the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Board of Cosmetology.What You Will Learn
Students will study the anatomy of hair, skin, and nails along with practical applications such as manicuring and pedicuring, hair color and foiling, hair treatments, haircutting and barbering, and hair and skin care. Students learn about laws and regulations, soft skills and more. This is a comprehensive program that requires study and practical applications of theory and services. Specialized training is provided through the use of mannequins, demonstrations and live models.Career Pathways
Graduates of the program have gone on to become hair stylists, barbers, salon managers, and salon proprietors. The beauty industry offers endless career possibilities and is continually growing. Students may also pursue careers related to sales, beauty blogging, image styling, and makeup artistry. Students may also pursue postsecondary education.Sample Careers
