Program at a Glance
Students entering the Law and Public Safety program are introduced to criminal justice, law enforcement, criminal activity, US Courts and dispatch and communication.

What You Will Learn
Students will learn about the functions, systems and bureaucracy associated with law enforcement. Exploration of different law enforcement organizations will be covered and students will be able to identify the components of the American Law Enforcement Industry. The history of law enforcement, American Justice and the Constitution will be reviewed. Students will learn about career options associated with law enforcement, dispatch, corrections and other opportunities. Students will explore report writing associated with law enforcement careers. Eligible seniors may enroll at Sussex County Community College for their senior year of study while concurrently earning degree and diploma credits.

Career Pathways
Students will be exposed to careers related to law and public safety, protective services and homeland security. Students successfully completing the four-year program will be eligible to earn college credits. See your guidance counselor for specifics. Students may also enter college upon graduation to pursue the major of their choice.
