NJSLA Individual Student Results Mailed Home

NJSLA Individual Student Reports from the Spring 2026 assessments are being mailed home to Sussex County Technical School families.

Results are being mailed for the following assessments:

  • NJSLA ELA Grade 9, taken during the 2025-2026 school year by current Grade 10 students
  • NJSLA Science Grade 11, taken during the 2025-2026 school year by current Grade 12 students
  • NJSLA Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, taken during the 2025-2026 school year

Evaluating statewide assessment results can be a helpful tool in measuring a student’s academic progress. For decades, New Jersey has used statewide assessments as one measure of students’ annual progress. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the state did not administer the NJSLA during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years.

Understanding Your Child’s Results

Your child’s results envelope will contain one Individual Student Report (ISR) for each content area in which your child was tested.

Many factors can influence a student’s performance, including ability, instructional time, and the student’s effort during testing. If you have concerns about your child’s results, we encourage you to speak with your child to better understand any difficulties they may have experienced with the assessment and the effort they put into completing it.

NJSLA and Graduation Requirements

It is important to note that these NJSLA assessments do not currently count toward graduation.

The assessment used for graduation purposes is the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA), which is administered in March of a student’s junior year, with a retake opportunity in October of senior year.

The NJSLA scores families are now receiving do not count toward graduation.

For more information about New Jersey graduation assessment requirements, please visit the NJDOE Graduation Assessment Requirements website.

Access Results Online

Your child’s Individual Student Reports are also available through the New Jersey Parent Portal.

The online portal includes:

  • Your child’s scale score
  • Level of performance
  • A video explanation of the score report
  • The ability to track scores from year to year, beginning with Spring 2019

If this is your first time accessing the Parent Portal, you will need to create an account using the unique claim code located on your student’s paper ISR.

Additional resources to help support your student are available through the New Jersey Assessments Resource Center under Parent Resources.
