Program at a Glance

Commercial Art exposes students to diverse career opportunities within the field of visual arts. Project development from concept through completion is a major component of this program. Students are encouraged to develop technical and artistic skills, and are presented with an array of foundational skill sets.
 
Eligible students earn college credits and/or industry valued credential(s):Adobe Certified Professional and college credit.
 

What You Will Learn

Commercial Art students will learn studio safety, digital design and marketing, photography, layout, etc.  Topics of study include drawing, painting, graphic design, portfolio development, professionalism, industry software, and much more.  Students are encouraged to cultivate technical and artistic skills to pursue advanced levels of training necessary for career placement or postsecondary education.
 

Career Pathways

Commercial Art students may pursue a multitude of careers such as package designers, special effects artists, digital animators, art directors, toy designers, publication illustrators, merchandisers, interior designers, product designers, educators, art therapists, or social media designers.
