Program at a Glance
Drafting and design are the foundation of some of today’s most vital and creative technical careers. Many professions such as architects, interior designers, engineers, and video game creators are just a few of the many careers that require the ability to understand, design and create technical drawings, graphics and renderings.The Architectural Technology Program is challenging and immerses students in a technology-rich environment where students learn by doing. Students use the same state-of-the-art computer equipment and software that the professionals use for the design, construction and manufacturing of products used in daily life.
What You Will Learn
Students will learn the concepts, commands and operations of computer aided drafting and modeling software while studying drafting and design techniques. Students will learn to transform architectural and technical designs into finished drawings, study the fundamentals of residential architecture, explore advanced techniques such as customization, 3D design, graphics and animation using professional software. Additionally, students will learn to work in a professional environment utilizing methodologies and practices, organizational skills, problem solving, and critical thinking.Career Pathways
